Impact of the Conflict on Children

2 Israeli schools have been fired upon by Palestinians and 185 Palestinian schools have been shelled or fired upon by Israelis since September 29, 2000.

Chart showing that numerous Palestinian schools and almost no Israeli schools have been attacked.

“On the way to school, children and teachers are routinely tear-gassed, harassed, or present when soldiers open fire—all of which affect the quality of instruction and a child’s ability to perform well once in the classroom.”

- Catherine Cook
